Heineken Collectibles

Heineken collectors learn to play by the rules. One collector's blog complains that Heineken takes logo and brand name infringement very seriously, citing the legal pursuit of a party-underwear manufacturer and the printer of a suggestively worded poster that condoned excessive drinking as evidence that Heineken does not understand the concept of parody.

As a Dutch company which originated in the 1870s, Heineken now claims markets in 170 countries. Its major brewing facilities continue to remain in Holland. Perhaps Heineken has been too busy brewing beer to follow transient trends in humor. Their pursuit of shoddy merchandise reflects a seriousness that pervades their craft.

As a result, the stock of Heineken collectibles is smaller than you might expect from a very large company. Shirts, hats and glasses are relatively easy to find, as are occasional bar trays, coasters, and signs. Very occasionally, a neon sign comes on the collectible market, but that is rare. During a brief period in the 1950s or 60s, Heineken authorized wooden shoes advertising the brand. Once in a while, one or a pair will appear for collectors--act quickly!
